Follow The Republic:

MALE

Columbus East junior football player Brock Patterson

His performance last week:

“Overall, I had a few less tackles than normal. And it’s not all on me. Without those other 10 guys, I wouldn’t do much.”

Do you do anything special to         prepare?

“I’m not a music guy. I usually sit by myself, and I do like to laugh a little and lighten the mood. I also always get a 6-inch sub from Subway. I got a 12-inch sub once and it was my worst game of the season.”

Your favorite drink:

“Gatorade”

Your favorite food:

“Swiss steak. My stepmom (Diana Patterson) makes it.”

Your favorite music group:

“B.O.B.”

Your favorite book:

“The Hunger Games series. I hate to say that because everyone does, but I guess there is a reason for that.”

Your favorite class:

“Definitely science. I love AP biology. I want to go into pharmacy.”

Your role model:

“My dad (Mike Patterson). I had a few rough times in middle school, and he always brought me to the brighter side. He is an understanding guy, and he always was there for me.”

Best advice:

“Play as hard as you can no matter what you are doing, whether it’s sports or academics. That’s Coach (Bob) Gaddis.”

Your athletics goal:

“I want to be the best I can be for the team and help to lead them to state. I hope I can play college ball.”

If you could travel anywhere:

“Probably Spain. I’m a fourth-year Spanish student. It’s beautiful everywhere there.”

FEMALE

Columbus North senior soccer player Elizabeth James

(The goalkeeper and University of Dayton recruit made several big saves in North’s 2-0 victory against Columbus East that gave the Bull Dogs a sectional championship)

Her performance last week:

“I was very pleased with my performance.                        I try to stay mentally in the game just as much as physically. I was pretty happy and hope       I can continue going forward.”

Do you do anything special to                   prepare?

“I try to get to the field early and work on my kicking before the game by myself. I just try and spend some time alone so I can focus on some things.”

“Chocolate milk”

Your favorite food:

“Macaroni and cheese”

Your favorite music group:
