Columbus Christian sophomore basketball player Chris Noblitt

(Noblitt scored 32 points and had 10 rebounds in a 66-54 win against Indianapolis International on Saturday. He had 16 points and eight rebounds in an 85-70 win against Cornerstone on Thursday.)

His performance last week:

“I got a lot of points because my teammates were dishing me the ball. I definitely wouldn’t have gotten those points without them.”

Do you do anything special to prepare?

“I usually have something to eat and watch the junior varsity game and think about what I’m going to do. If there is nobody in the locker room, I will go in there.”

“Speech class. I might want to do something in broadcasting.”

“My dad (Todd Noblitt). He has worked with me in basketball and he has been good in my Christian life.”

Best advice:

“Be a game-changer. When I play my hardest, I can change the game.”

Your athletics goal:

“I am hoping to play college ball. Also, for me to play my hardest for my team to be successful.”

If you could travel

anywhere:

“Haiti. So I could help after all the destruction.”

Female

Columbus East freshman basketball player Audrey Wetzel

(Wetzel led the Olympians with 15 points and 10 rebounds in last week’s 49-35 win at Shelbyville. She led East with 12 points in Saturday’s 54-45 loss at Jeffersonville.)

Her performance last week:

“I was really happy with it. Our team really worked together, and we lost to Jeffersonville. But the effort was there, so coach (Danny Brown) wasn’t really mad at us.”

Do you do anything special to prepare?

“Before the game, I just try to stay focused, but on weekends, I work with a trainer. Before the game, I listen to music and just mentally prepare myself to play.”
