Theater group’s ‘Mixed Nuts’ comedy ready for curtain

The Jennings County Players are rehearsing for their next play, “Mixed Nuts,” which is Sept. 12 to 14 at the Park Theatre Civic Centre, 25 N. Madison Ave., North Vernon.

“Mixed Nuts” is a comedy in which an unusual and unexpected assortment of people must interrelate. The hero is Michael Caldwell, a shy, aspiring writer from the Midwest who goes to the Big Apple in search of fame and fortune. His life becomes a series of encounters with the unpredictable residents of his dilapidated apartment house.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 and 13, and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 14.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Park Theatre Civic Centre; the box office is open 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Cost is $8 in advance and $10 at the door, $3 for students in kindergarten though Grade 12 and $1 for preschool children.
