Volunteers are needed to be course marshals during the Thrive Alliance/JCB 5K Run and Walk from 7 to 10 a.m. April 12 at the United Way Center.
The race supports Thrive Alliance programs that serve seniors and people of all ages with disabilities. The course, certified by the Crossroads of Indiana Race Series, will make a loop around the neighborhoods of downtown Columbus with the start and finish line located at the United Way Center.
Course marshals will be stationed at various intersections throughout the race course to direct runners and walkers, keep spectators outside of the marked course area and control traffic where needed. Volunteers need to be energetic and able to walk and stand for a 60- to 90-minute shift.
Each volunteer receives a T-shirt.
