Burton to replace Stewart at Bristol race

Follow The Republic:

Tony Stewart has decided not to compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event this weekend at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.

Jeff Burton, who replaced Stewart last weekend at Michigan International Speedway, will drive the No. 14 Bass Pro Shops/Mobil 1 Chevrolet SS for Stewart-Haas Racing.

The racing team said the driver change pertains only to Bristol. Stewart’s plans for upcoming Sprint Cup races have yet to be determined.
