Speaker and singer Joani Tabor anchors her life on Scriptural wisdom from 1 Peter 5:7: “Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.”
That could explain how she endured the death of her father at age 11 and the loss of a child later in life.
The Roanoke, Va., traveling evangelist will bring her concert and women’s retreat, “Nothing’s Gonna Steal My Joy,” to Columbus First Assembly, 2100 10th St. The gathering from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 1 will include how she faced tragedy and the seven principles she employs to live in joy no matter her surroundings.
Tabor has performed for such dignitaries as the Rev. Billy Graham and at the White House. Plus, she has made more than 100 television appearances. Her southern Gospel music has been featured on hundreds of radio stations. Her music will be available at the retreat.
Tickets for the retreat are $30 in advance and are on sale now at the church. Information: 376-7833 or columbusfirstassembly.org
