The second annual Veterans Health Forum will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 26 at Just Friends Adult Day Services in Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsey St., in Columbus.
The free event is for veterans, spouses, widows and other family members to ask questions and express concerns. It also is for those providing services to veterans in Bartholomew and six surrounding counties.
The focus will be on the entire spectrum of veteran health issues. However, veteran-related questions of a non-health nature may be turned in, in writing, beforehand. An answer will be provided later, by phone or email.
Speakers will be Tom Crawford, Bartholomew County veterans service officer; Ron Higgins, Brown County veterans service officer; Rick Caldwell, Indiana commander of AMVETS and also commander of a veterans post-traumatic stress disorder support group; and Kimberly Self, aging and disability resource center specialist at Columbus’ Thrive Alliance (formerly Area XI Aging and Community Services of South Central Indiana).
A light meal will be provided at no charge. Organizers are requesting that people planning to attend reserve a space by 5 p.m. Monday by calling 372-6415.
