Veterans memorial program planned

Partners in Education will offer a class titled “Bartholomew County Memorial to Veterans: Personalizing Those who Sacrificed Their Lives” from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 9 at Mill Race Center.

Instructor Harry McCawley, associate editor of The Republic, will share stories of the veterans, as written in their letters to loved ones, said Lynne Sullivan, vice president of Mill Race Center.

He also will:

  • Discuss the selection method of the names to be included on the memorial and excerpts from letters to and from local service members.
  • Focus on the various stages of planning and completing the memorial.
  • Distribute short biographies and interesting stories of all Bartholomew County service members who gave their lives for their country.
