A woman who police claim refused their orders to stop walking away from them landed in jail after reportedly flipping a burning cigarette at an officer and spitting on his arm.
Columbus police Lt. Jeff Williams was
patrolling near 10th Street
and Central Avenue about 9 p.m. Thursday when he saw
Paige N. Sneed, 21, of 41 S. Hinman St., who he knew was wanted, said Lt. Matt Myers, the department’s public information officer.
Myers said Williams got out of his squad car to talk with Sneed; however, Sneed continued to walk despite his orders to stop. Williams tried to restrain her, which prompted Sneed to flip the cigarette, then spit and kick during handcuffing.
Sneed faces preliminary charges of false informing (for giving a false name) and resisting law enforcement by bodily waste. She was being held without bond at the Bartholomew County Jail.
