Briefly describe your daily/weekly workout routine
I do total body resistance training along with 30 minutes of cardio three to four days a week, and just cardio 3 days a week.
What inspired you to begin a regular fitness routine?
I’ve always been very active. I’ve been working out regularly for over 15 years, so it’s become a part of who I am.
Why is it something you have stuck with?
I enjoy working out; it’s addictive! I have a harder time not working out.
How do you make time to work out?
It’s part of my everyday routine. I choose to make time to work out. I’ve made exercising a priority.
When and why did you get serious about fitness?
I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t serious about fitness.
Have you lost or gained muscle mass through working out?
I’ve definitely gained muscle mass from working out. I’m constantly getting stronger.
What’s your favorite exercise?
I always enjoy running and squats. Squats make you feel strong, and there are so many different variations you can do.
Any exercises you dread, but do anyway?
Push-ups, they never seem to get easier no matter how often I do them. I do them because they are a great overall move, especially for women.
Do you listen to music while you work out? What’s on your playlist?
I listen to just about anything with a fast beat. My playlist is huge because there are days where I run for two hours, and listening to a wide range of songs helps the time go by quicker.
Do you follow a special diet? If so, describe it briefly. Do you “cheat” much?
I don’t follow a special diet, but I try to eat healthy on most days. I enjoy cooking and rarely eat out, so that helps me keep track of what I’m putting in my body. I don’t believe in making any type of food off-limits. I love sweets, but I try to eat them in moderation.
Do you have a favorite fitness moment?
I completed my first half-marathon last year and am currently training for my second.
What do you do to motivate yourself when you just don’t want to work out?
I rarely experience days where I don’t want to work out.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start working out?
I would recommend starting small, finding an activity you enjoy doing, schedule your workouts to get in a routine, and don’t wait until New Year’s Day. Start today!
