Williams appointed city’s fire inspector

Columbus firefighter Norvin Williams has been appointed to the position of inspector.

Williams, who has been a Columbus firefighter for 15 years, began his fire service career in 1996 when he served in the Mechanic Division of the Columbus Fire Department. In 1999, Williams became a sworn city firefighter. He is a certified emergency medical technician and a certified emergency vehicle technician.

Williams will officially begin his assignment on May 19.

“Inspector Williams will be a tremendous asset and a great addition to our administrative team. I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to Norvin for his commitment and service with the Columbus Fire Department,” Columbus Fire Chief David Allmon said.
