A woman died in a fire inside a house in Nashville this morning, police said.

Her identity has not been released, pending the notification of relatives.

The fire was reported on East Washington Street after 6 a.m. by a Brown County Schools bus driver. Nashville firefighters reported finding flames shooting out the front door and windows. They attempted to make entry through the door, but were pushed back as the roof began to collapse. They were able to enter in the back of the house and discovered a woman inside.
