Women pool funds to support charities

COLUMBUS — Some women have the financial means to donate large sums to charity. Others do not but wish they could.

The idea behind the Women’s Giving Circle of Bartholomew County is to allow women of all ages, means and backgrounds to make a positive difference in the lives of women and girls.

In its second year, the effort allows women to pool their money in a grant fund and endowment through Heritage Fund: The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County.

Each woman is asked to contribute $100 a year. And if $100 is too much for one payment, contributions can be broken up into smaller donations to reach the $100.
