Work on I-65 ramps to continue through Monday

Follow The Republic:

Work on Interstate 65 at the State Road 46 interchange continues today through noon Monday.

The Indiana Department of Transportation will close the I-65 southbound on-ramp from State Road 46 beginning at 7 p.m. today and continuing until noon Monday.

The I-65 southbound driving lane near the interchange also will be closed during that time period, INDOT said. The passing lane will be open.

INDOT crews will mark pavement throughout the weekend. The contractor plans to close the I-65 northbound lanes alternately near the State Road 46 interchange throughout the weekend.

Contractors are continuing work on a concrete restoration project that involves the interstate and the State Road 46 ramps, according to INDOT.

Speed limit in the work zone will be 45 mph.

INDOT is recommending that motorists use U.S. 31 as an alternate route from Scottsburg to Taylorsville to avoid the road construction.
