The Bartholomew County Financial Literacy Coalition and Thrive Alliance will sponsor a free public viewing of a “Fleeced: Speaking Out Against Senior Financial Abuse” produced in collaboration by WFYI Public Media in Indianapolis and the National Community Reinvestment Coalition.
The documentary explores the impact financial exploitation has on older adults, their families, their caregivers and the community. It will be shown at 6:30 p.m. April 14 at YES Cinema, 328 Jackson St. Doors open to the public at 6 p.m. A panel discussion and question-and-answer session involving state and local experts will immediately follow the film.
Free concessions will be served. Just Friends Adult Day Services will provide free care for older adults whose caregivers wish to attend the viewing. The care will be provided at Just Friends’ location at Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsey St.
