Larry A. Maynard, 61, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away at his residence in Forest Park at 11:02 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2012.
Larry was a 1969 graduate of Paris High School and at 1973 graduate of Eastern Illinois University School of Business and was honored as EIU's Marketing Student of the year in 1972.
Upon graduation, Mr. Maynard was employed with Caterpillar Tractor Company, Aurora and East Peoria Facility, and participated in the launch of the Caterpillar Lafayette, Indiana, Facility. During the next several years, he worked with organizations such as Ernst & Young, Oswalt Menu Company, Masotech, GKN, Gecom Corporation in Greensburg, Indiana,and MS Inspection in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was employed at the time of his death with Faurecia, located in Columbus, Indiana.
Mr. Maynard was a graduate of the George Washington University School of Engineering Advanced Engineering Education Program taught by Dr. W. Edward Deming. In addition, Mr. Maynard was a certified lead auditor for ISO 14000 - Environment Management System and TS 16949 Quality Management System. He performed consulting work for several years as President of Performance Enhancement located in Columbus, Indiana.
In honor of and in keeping with Mr. Maynard's wishes, there will be no funeral service and cremation will take place.

Mr. Maynard is survived by his mother, Bessie Gray Maynard of Paris, IL; brothers, Paul Jay (Becky Warner) Maynard of Paris, IL, and Donald Wayne (Kay Tanquary) Maynard of Glen Carbon, IL; an uncle, Ken Maynard of Phoenix, AZ; an aunt, Mary Burton of Montrose, IL; nieces, Leah (John) York of Paris, IL, Sarah (Billy Eggers) Warner of Paris, IL, Dr. Cassandra L. Maynard of Maplewood, MO, and Angela M. Maynard of Bloomington, IL; a nephew, Andrew D. Maynard of Glen Carbon, IL; three great nieces; and two great-nephews.
Mr. Maynard was preceded in death by his father, Donald Archie Maynard.
