Mary Ann Wenning, 90, of Millhousen, peacefully passed away August 16, 2012, at home.
She was born December 29, 1921, in Duncombe, Iowa, to Henry J. and Mary A. (Naderman) Stuhrenberg. She married Everett J. Wenning on May 11, 1955, and they were happily married for 54 years until his death on June 10, 2009.
Mrs. Wenning was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen, Indiana. She was a spirited and willful person who was known for her keen memory and gardening.
Survivors include her four children, Mary Jo Wenning of Millhousen, John H. (Diane) Wenning of Greensburg, Martha (Rex) Johnson and Andrew (Raquel) Wenning, both of Columbus. She is also survived by her three sisters, Rosemary (Gilbert) Maschino of North Vernon, Sister Bernetta (Clarie) Stuhrenberg O.S.F. of Oldenburg, and Barbara (Kenneth) Sandhage of Westport. Additionally she is survived by her grandchildren, Kenneth Wenning of West Palm Beach, Florida, Amber (Brandon) Tucker of Indianapolis, Derek Johnson of Lafayette, Daren Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, Jennifer Wenning and Kathryn Wenning, both of Bloomington, and Michael Wenning of Columbus; and stepgrandchildren, Tia Hooker and Rocky Hooker, both of Columbus.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Albert Stuhrenberg; two sisters: Sr. Margaret Mary Stuhrenberg O.S.F. and Sr. M. Henriette Stuhrenberg O.C.S.O.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 19, at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen. A rosary service for family and friends will be prayed at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church in Millhousen. Interment will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
