Laura Jean Miller, 86, of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Gary, IN, passed away peacefully at Manatee Memorial Hospital on August 17, 2012.
Born in Washington, PA, on December 4, 1925, Laura was the daughter of James and Florence (Rothermund) Scott. She married Frank D. Miller on January 5, 1946. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1982.
She enjoyed reading, especially Western novels, and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She loved her friends and family, especially. Laura was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone she knew.
Survivors include her son, Frank P. (Jenny) Miller of Columbus, IN; sisters, Lois (Jack) Florian and Peggy (Harold) Caesbar of Washington, PA, and Carol (Tom) Beckwith of Cleveland, OH; a son-in-law, Orv Morley of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Nancy Novak and Cindy (Mike) Knowles of Bradenton, FL, Megan Miller and Rachel Miller of Indianapolis, IN, and Emily Miller (David) James of Lyles, TN; and great-grandchildren, Remmington Novak, Payton Burnsworth, McKayla Knowles, Kaiden Miller, and soon-to-be born, Dominick James.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughters, Mary Ann Morley of Bradenton, FL, and Donna J. (Kevin) LaBounty of Gary, IN; her partner of 26 years, Walter Grabos of Bradenton, FL; and her brothers, Richard E. Scott and Wilbur Scott of Cleveland, OH.
A private graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Portage, IN.
