Joseph W. Ross, 78, of County Road 100 West, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at 3:20 a.m. at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Joseph was formerly employed at Hartup Tool & Die, Indiana Die & Cast, Arvin Industries and Enkei.

He was a life member of the American Legion and a member the V.F.W. and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting and was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to time of the service Friday.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Camden, Alabama, on December 24, 1933, Mr. Ross was the son of Hazel S. and Margarite Duke Ross.

He married Mary I. Brewer on October 27, 1957.

Survivors include his wife; children, Chris (Kris) Ross of Jonesville and Cathy (Ken) Weichman of Columbus; a brother, James E. (Beulah) Ross of Columbus; grandchildren, Tom (Sarah) Ross of Columbus, Mindy (Nate) Hall of Columbus, Justin Weichman of Columbus and Adam Weichman of Greenwood; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his fathe,r Hazel S. Ross; his mother, Margarite Ross Massey; a brother, Richard Ross; and sisters, Dorothy Waters and Helena Ludlum.
