Hazel Smallwood, 89, of Norman, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at her home.
A homemaker, she was a member of Kurtz Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed reading, farming and cooking for her family.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown. Calling will be from noon until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Kurtz Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Schneck Foundation (Hospice Fund) or Kurtz Church of the Nazarene.
Born April 19, 1923, in West Virginia, Mrs. Smallwood was the daughter of Connie and Mary (Roberts) Lowman. On May 23, 1942, she married Dan Smallwood. He preceded her in death in September 2008.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna J. (Roger) Patton of Bedford; a brother, David Lowman of Florida; two sisters, Norma Whitehead and Viola Sparks, both of California; three grandchildren, Cindy Augspurg, Julie Benton and Christina White; five great-grandchildren, Austin Benton, Blake Benton, Annette Slate, Jasmine White and Brandon White; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her husband, seven brothers, one sister and her parents.
