Alberta Weichman, 85, of Sycamore Street, passed from this life at 8:57 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Weichman worked in food service for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation for over 30 years.
She was a faithful member of Columbus Free Methodist Church and her true passion in life was her family.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Mark Hurt and the Rev. Jon Carlstrom officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or Columbus Free Methodist Church.

Born in Columbus April 10, 1927, Mrs. Weichman was the daughter of Fred and Edell Artis Brooks. She married Herman F. Weichman August 10, 1946; he preceded her in death on January 28, 2006.
Mrs. Weichman is survived by her children, Phillip (Connie) Weichman, Carl (Teresa) Weichman, Mark (Mary) Weichman and Rebekah (Lawrence) Williams, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Christopher (Laura) Williams, Joshua Weichman, Kylie Weichman and Jacob Weichman.
Mrs. Weichman was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and brothers, Paul and Bill Brooks.
