Bernard W. Higgs, 71, of North Vernon, died at 10:17 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday at Butlerville Mennonite Church with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. In keeping with Bernard's wishes cremation is planned.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Barrett Higgs of North Vernon; three children, Rosalie Paul of North Carolina, William "Billy" Higgs of North Vernon and Michelle Milligan of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three brothers, Tom Higgs and Jerry Higgs, both of Florida, and Stanley Higgs of Pennsylvania.
Arrangements were made by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home.
