Frank Mitchell Adams Sr., 97, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012, at his residence. Mr Adams was born January 20, 1915, in Corydon, Indiana, to William and Mary Rowland Adams.
He was president of Adams Custom Veneers Inc. from 1967 to 1995, having worked in the veneer industry for most of his life. He was a fifth generation member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and most recently also held membership at St. Mark's United Church of Christ. He was a 57-year member of the New Albany Rotary Club and a member of Jefferson Masonic Lodge.
Frank graduated from Indiana University Southeast in 1978 at age 63, with a degree in general studies, concentrating in business and economics.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy Emma Stalker Adams, and his son and daughter-in-law, Frank M. Adams Jr. and Susan Prather Adams.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Lois Adams of New Albany, Indiana; a granddaughter, Tricia Susan Adams of Indianapolis, Indiana; and a grandson, Benjamin Samuel Adams of New Albany, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany and from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark's United Church of Christ where the funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon, Indiana.
