Hubert Lee “Jim” Jewell, 69, of Franklin, passed away Sept. 1, 2012, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born March 17, 1943, in Houston, Texas, to Hubert Jewell Lee Sr. and Lula (Hawkins) Lee. He married Karen F. (Gleason) Lee on June 12, 1982, in Portsmouth, Va. She survives.
He was a graduate of the pharmaceutical school and the University of Virginia. He retired from the United States Navy in 1986 after 24 years of services as a pharmacist. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed sports.
Survivors include his wife, Karen F. (Gleason) Lee of Franklin; son, Eric James Lee (Erin Beth) of Indianapolis, sister, Juanita Thorp of Collinsville, Okla,; brother-in-law, Jerry Oliver of Melbourne, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Conrad Lee, and a sister, Peggy Oliver.
A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Nov. 5, 2012, at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., with full military honors.
