Joe D. Mayes, 82, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012. He was a resident of Indianapolis.
Survivors include his son, Scott Mayes; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and nine stepchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Mayes; parents, Mose L. and Mattie (Summers) Mayes; son, Jeffrey K. Mayes; daughter, Debbie Mitchell; two brothers; and one sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., Indianapolis.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery in Indianapolis.
