Betty Jean Caldwell, 84 of Central Avenue, died at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Betty served 33 years in the United States Air Force and retired in 1988 as an Air Craft Operations Supervisor. She served in the Vietnam War and was a member of New Zion United Methodist Church, a life member of American Legion Post 233 in Edinburgh, Edinburgh VFW Post 7964 and Retired Enlisted Association.
She was a member of Red Hat Club, California State University San Bernardino Alumni Association, Retired U.S. Government Civil Service, Democratic Ladies and retired from Northrop-Grumman Corp in California.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Daryl Gressel officiating. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. to time of service Friday. Military rites will be conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
Following the funeral, cremation will take place and inurnment will be at a later date at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Zion United Methodist Church, American Legion or VFW.

Betty was born in Columbus August 28, 192,8 the daughter of Charles R. and Monta Gail Gates Kinsey.
Survivors include her sister Shirley Mae Letts of Hinton, OK, and brother Clifford J. (Jill) Kinsey of North Richland Hills, TX.
