Mitchell "Mike" Jablonski, 86, of Fort Pierce, Florida, formerly of Columbus, died at 7:50 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Jablonski was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired as Director of Store Operations for Ben Franklin Department Stores. After retirement, he was a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker.

Mr. Jablonski was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus, Columbus Elks Club and the American Legion. His hobbies included golfing and fishing.

The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor John W. Armstrong officiating.

Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Full military rites will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.

Born in Jackson, Michigan, February 8, 1926, Mr. Jablonski was the son of Joseph and Letti Truskleski Jablonski. He married Shirlie Ann Richter May 14, 1949.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years; children, Wendy (John) Freeland of Indianapolis, Timothy (Diane) Jablonski of Sand Springs, OK, and Thomas Jablonski of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Mr. Jablonski was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael R. Jablonski; and brothers, Frank, John and Stan Jablonski.
