Arthur Cleve “Art” Hudson, age 69, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012.
He was a loving father, devoted husband and a dedicated Christian with a strong faith in God. Art was a kind, generous, highly intelligent and fun-loving man. His interests were astronomy and genealogy.
Art enjoyed his retirement time, spending it with friends and family and volunteering numerous hours at the Dayton Art Institute and his church, Oak Creek United Church of Christ, where he was facility chairman and an occasional table leader of the Emmaus Walk. He retired from the Department of Defense where he was an electrical engineer.
Art attended Indiana University, graduated from Purdue University and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War era.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Josie Hudson.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Hudson; daughter, Kimberly Hudson; sister, Karen Mason; brothers, Mitch (Joyce) Hudson and David Hudson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his cat, Dewey.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to noon Saturday, September 29, at Oak Creek United Church of Christ, 5280 Bigger Road, Kettering. A funeral service will follow at noon. Burial will take place at Greenmound Cemetery in New Madison, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Creek United Church of Christ, 5280 Bigger Road, Kettering, OH 45440, or to the Dayton Art Institute, 456 Belmonte Park North, Dayton, OH 45405.
Arrangements were made by Routsong Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Dayton.
