Ambrose J. Craig, 76, of Bloomington, IN, passed away September 26, 2012, at IU Health Hospice House. He was born October 7, 1935, to William Omer and Constance (Duncan) Miller in Bedford, IN.
Ambrose was a U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked for Sears and Roebuck as a repairman.
He was a member of the American Legion, was leader of Scout Troop No. 340, and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving family members include his son, Monty Craig and his wife Cris of Hope, IN; grandchildren, Logan, Adam, Sarah, Graham and Emma Craig; his second wife, Judy Harlow Craig; brothers, Gary Omer Craig of Bedford, IN, and Roy Craig of Mitchell, IN; half brothers, Dave Miller of Spencer, IN, and Steve Miller of Ellettsville, IN; and sisters, Janet Hall of Springville, IN, Donna Scheffell of Columbus, IN, and Marie Baker Deckard of Mitchell, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Craig; sisters, Eva Smith and Reva Langley and his first wife, Doris Irene (Kern) Craig.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington, IN. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to IU Health Hospice House or the American Kidney Foundation.
