Derek Reid Sandlin, 41, of North Vernon, died at 12:12 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Mr. Sandlin survived is by his parents, Paul (Linda Abplanalp) Sandlin and Roberta “Bert” (Jack Modlin) Sandlin, both of North Vernon; his children, Cally and Molly Lonsberry and Jake Sandlin, all of North Vernon, and Devin Sandlin of Louisville, Ky.; and two sisters, Dawn Renee Sandlin and Dalynn Rachelle (David) Lonsberry, both of North Vernon.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Calling will be from 3 p.m. until service time Tuesday. A gathering of family and friends will be held following the service at North Vernon Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home for expenses.
