Mrs. Shirley Ann Haskell Peddie, age 75, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on April 30, 1937 in Anderson, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Herbert W. "Hosie" and Geraldine Lauderbaugh Haskell.
She spent her early life in Switzerland County, moving to Madison when she was 18. Shirley was united in marriage on Nov. 18, 1968, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, to Jon W. Peddie.
She worked early in life at the Charlestown Ammunition Plant and the River Town Inn. She had been a server at the Briar Patch, Country Club, and the Elks Lodge for several years. Shirley had worked for the past 18 years at the Key West Shrimp House in downtown Madison and was known for the wonderful service she provided to the patrons there. Her quick wit and warm smile will be missed.
Shirley was a faithful member of the North Madison Christian Church. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren's sporting events, cooking for her family, fishing, her dogs, being outdoors and her church.
Shirley died Sunday, October 7, 2012, at 10:50 p.m. at the Hanover Health & Rehab Center in Hanover, Indiana.
Shirley will be missed by her husband of 44 years, Jon W. Peddie of Madison, Indiana; her loving daughters, Bonnie Hart and her fiancee, Wayne Smith of Madison, Indiana, Tammy Cook of Grimes, Iowa, Gina Jenkins and her husband, Mark of Madison, Indiana, Traci Peddie of Indianapolis, Indiana, Brandy Graham and her husband, Jimmy of Madison, Indiana; two brothers, Jerry W. Haskell and his wife, Mary Ann of Columbus, Indiana, and Larry W. Haskell and his wife, Sharon of Scipio, Indiana; her grandchildren, Tyler, Brittin, Luc, Eric, Julia and Bralyn; several nieces, nephews and other relatives
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert W. "Hosie" Haskell, who died September 9, 2000; her mother, Geraldine Lauderbaugh Haskell, who died June 4, 1992; her grandparents, John W. and Mary A. Harper Haskell and Harley and Myrtle Lauderbaugh;and her brother, Robert L. "Bobby" Haskell, who died August 29, 1998.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., by Bro. Bob Hicks at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison, Indiana.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter. Cards are available at the funeral home.
