Loretta L. Cruser, 90, of Westport, passed away at 1:09 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012.
She was born on August 8, 1922, in Hanover, the daughter of Harold and Lilly (Hanlon) Grimes. She was raised in Madison and had resided on their farm near Westport since 1945. She graduated from Madison High School in Madison, Indiana.
She married Rayburn S. Cruser in Indianapolis on June 30, 1945, and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1985.
Mrs. Cruser was a member of the North Vernon Order of Eastern Star No. 183, Rock Creek Baptist Church and Missionary Society and the Columbia Township Home Economics Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, mowing, church socials and wintering at her home in Florida.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Marvin) Sporleder of North Vernon; her grandchildren, Marty (Miranda) Sporleder, Matthew (Pam) Sporleder, Trent “TJ” Sporleder and Luke Cruser, all of North Vernon; her great-grandchildren, Trace, Paris, Kyra, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Tyler and Alicia Sporleder, all of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Rayburn Scott Cruser Jr.; brothers, Wilber, Fred and Leo Grimes; and sisters, Cleone Hornung, Thelma Grimes and Nadine Miller.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, October 12, 2012, at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the Rock Creek Cemetery with Rev. Connie Barr officiating. There will be no public visitation.
