Gerald D. Williams, 74, of Holton, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born in the Flat Rock community near Osgood on February 24, 1938, the son of Glenn and Martha Rayburn Williams.
He was married to Carolyn Schlotman on September 12, 1954, and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Mark (Jana) Williams of Edinburgh, Steve (Beth) Williams of Nashville, Tenn., and Andy (Theresa) Williams of Greensburg; two daughters, Beth Hewitt of Batesville and Lisa (Denny) Granger of Columbus; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Milford (Carol) Williams of Bennington; two sisters, Beverly (Chuck) Newlin of Osgood, and Carolyn (John) Newlin of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Sue Rice.
Mr. Williams was a graduate of Holton High School. He was a 30-year employee of Cummins Engine Co., retiring in 1997, and had worked until 2010 at Gecom in Greensburg. Gerald was a member of Union Flat Rock Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Union Flat Rock Baptist Church with Brother Malvin McCullough officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.
