Lyndon R. Overfelt, 74, of Columbus, passed away at 11:11 a.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care of Columbus.
Lyndon was born in Hardyville, Kentucky, on March 4, 1938, to the late Pete and Ruby Mouser Overfelt. He married Mary P. Coulter on December 23, 1956, in Columbus.
Lyndon was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, camping, NASCAR, and spending time with family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Reverend Jerry K. Day Sr. officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military rites performed by the Indiana Army Reserve National Guard Honor Guard and Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, Mary P. Overfelt of Columbus; sons, Brent (Pam) Overfelt of Columbus and Brian Overfelt; grandchildren, Christopher Overfelt, Kailie Overfelt and Tori Overfelt; brothers, Doyle (Margo) Overfelt of Texas, and Robert (Wilma) Overfelt of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
Lyndon was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rubena Zamora and Louise Line; and brothers, J.W. Overfelt and James Overfelt.
