Beth Jean Brunner, 79, of Shelbyville, peacefully passed away Friday, October 12, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, surrounded by all her children.
Born September 22, 1933, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of John E. and Vida Louise (Hupp) Jean.
Survivors include her children, Scott (wife, Jaye) Brunner of Shelbyville, Gwen (husband, John) Cord of Columbus, Jean (husband, Lamar) Reinhart of West Lafayette and Philip (wife, Georgia) Brunner of Fishers; eight grandchildren' and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Beth graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1951 and Indiana University in 1955.
She was a member of Shelbyville Community Church and Delta Delta Delta Sorority and was past president of P.E.O. philanthropic sisterhood.
Mrs. Brunner formerly taught first grade at Morristown Elementary and was a substitute teacher for many years at various schools. She was a travel agent at Indy Travel for 15 years, retiring in 2002.
A homemaker, she enjoyed traveling and had been all over the world.
A gathering of friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Shelbyville Community Church, 720 North 325 East in Shelbyville.
A memorial service will follow at 11a.m. at the church.
Arrangements were entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
