James C. Cox, 71, of Edinburgh, died at 8:26 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
He was born in Green County, Ky., April 28, 1941, the son of the late Omar and Lorene Brockman Cox. He married Bertha C. Denton on September 23, 1958, and she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by sons, James R. (Judy) Cox of Edinburgh, David R. Cox of Edinburgh, Steve Allen Cox of the south side of Indianapolis, Ricky Earl Cox of Edinburgh, and Darrell Keith (Amy) Cox of Edinburgh; a daughter, Donna G. (Jason) Whitlock of Edinburgh; a sister, Betty (Herman) Conover of Columbia, Ky.; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, James R. Cox Jr.
James retired from Lear Corp. in Edinburgh, and then worked part-time for Wiese Toyota.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Who So Ever Will Community Church with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home.
