Donald Eugene Howard, 75, of North Vernon, died at 8:46 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Helga Mayerthaler Howard of North Vernon; his mother, Cynthia Whitaker of North Vernon; three sons, Tony Howard, Raymond Howard and Brian Scott Howard, all of North Vernon; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Arthur) Fields of North Vernon; two brothers, Max Howard of Indianapolis and Alfonso (Denise) Whitaker of Eddyville, Ky.; two sisters, Gordennell (Richard) Griner of Butlerville and Deborah Murphy of North Vernon; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ishmael Howard; and a son, Richard Howard.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon, with the Rev. Gary Prange officiating. Calling will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Assembly of God in North Vernon.
