Richard Garr "Rick" Wilson, 58, of Columbus, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Miller's Merry Manor in Hope.
As a child, Rick attended First United Methodist Church. He was a 1972 graduate of Columbus High School and was taught to play the violin by Chester Kitzinger.
He enjoyed IU basketball and he rode his bicycle miles and miles.
A private family graveside service will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 East 17th Street, Columbus, IN 47201.
Arrangements were made by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home.

Born in Wabash January 26, 1954, Rick was the son of Dick and Bea Wilson.
Survivors include his sister, Nancy Wilson of Scipio; a brother, Steve (Bev) Wilson of Columbus; nieces, Abby Wilson of Columbus, Amanda Wilson of Indianapolis and Wendy Westervelt of Columbus; a nephew, Jeff Westervelt of Scipio; an aunt, Phyllis "Pete" Mittank of Wabash; three great-nieces; a great-nephew; and several cousins.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents.
