Michael D. Burton, 49, of Dawson Street, died at 8:26 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Methodist Hospital IU Health in Indianapolis.
Michael was born on March 10, 1963, in Columbus, to Oscar W. and Carrie Yeadon Burton. He married Debbie K. Black on April 2, 2008, in Brown County.
Michael enjoyed racing, hunting, fishing, demolition derbies and spending time with family and friends. He had many friends and was loved by all.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. Delbert Riddle officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.

Michael is survived by his wife, Debbie K. Burton of Columbus; his mother, Carrie Yeadon Burton of Columbus; sons, Joe (Jamie) Creamer of Greensburg, Douglas (Ashley) Smith of Shelbyville, and Josh (Krystal) Smith of Columbus; grandchildren, Lydia, Keagan, Bryan, Logan, Dusty, Chase, Khloe, and Kaleb; sisters, Judy Johnson, Bev (David) Thayer, and Debra Settles; nephews and nieces, Mike Jr., Tammy, Amberly, and Kyle; and a great-nephew, Casey.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Oscar W. Burton; brothers-in-law, Charlie Settles and Mike Johnson; and his dog and friend "Rocky."
