V. Blanche Melton Farley Dunham, 89, of Jonesville, IN, formerly of Jennings County, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, IN.
Blanche was born September 22, 1923, in Burkesville, KY, to the late James and Pearl Anderson Melton. While working in Indianapolis, she met her first husband, Charles Henry Farley, and they were married September 5, 1941. Charles was killed in action July 21,1944, during World War II. She married her late husband, Cordell Dunham, on July 13, 1946. They spent the next 57 years raising their five children, Sandra Kleber, James Dunham, Faye Ison, Joyce Christie and Ben Dunham.
Blanche retired from H.O. Canfield in Seymour. She was a member of the Jonesville Christian Church, enjoyed cooking and quilting and was known for her wonderful pies.
Along with her five children, survivors include 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, one brother, and five sisters.
She was also preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour, on Monday, November 19, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Stan Thomas officiating. Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
A private burial service will be held at Vernon Cemetery, Vernon, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be written to Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility, 2626 East 17th Street, Columbus, IN 47201.
