David Wayne Shirley, 54, of Austin, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012, at his residence.
Born June 18, 1958, in Seymour, he was the son of Jean (Spurgeon) Shirleyand the late Chester Donald Shirley.
David was a self-employed mechanic and a truck driver. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, drag racing his Nova and playing bass guitar in his band.
He is survived by his daughter, Nikki Jo Shirley; his mother; his grandson, Brantley Douglas Fink; brothers, Mark Anthony (Crystal) Shirley and Don Shirley; a sister, Barbara Overshiner; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, one niece and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Wednesday, November 21, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Lewis officiating. Burial will take place at Reddington Cemetery with a Voss Dove release. Friends may call at Voss Chapel in Seymour Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
