Robert Lewis Hogg, 65, of Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at 5:29 p.m. at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born on October 14, 1947, in Greensburg, the son of George William and Betty Jean (Ferris) Hogg.
Mr. Hogg was a lifelong resident of Greensburg. A 1965 graduate of Greensburg High School, he attended Indiana Central College for three years and retired from Cummins Engine Company in 2002 after 33 years of service. He enjoyed collecting Hallmark ornaments, garage sales, fishing, mushroom hunting, puzzles and playing dominoes. He married Ruth Ellen (McLaughlin) Pike in Jellico, Tennessee, on October 22, 1993.
She survives along with his daughters, Jacquelyn Mellis (Frank Massey), Katherine Mueller (Gayle Gatewood) and Angela (David) Karbowski, all of Greensburg; his sisters, Nancy Hogg and Georgia (Steve) Binder, both of Greensburg; his brother, Michael (Dee) Hogg of St. Paul; four stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George W. Hogg Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Briana Wright.
Private funeral services for the family will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. A private visitation for the family will be held from 10 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Association or Riley Children’s Hospital.
