R. La Verne Haase Williams, 89, of Columbus, died at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.
Mrs. Williams was a licensed real estate agent and a former secretary at Cummins Engine Company. She was a former member of North Christian Church where she had served as a deaconess and was active in the women's group.
Funeral service will be conducted at noon Friday at Four Seasons Retirement Center Chapel with the Rev. Phyllis Hawkins officiating. Calling will be at the chapel from 10 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery.
Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Health Care Center, Thornton Memorial Boys Club of Bedford, IN, or Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Morgan County Jan. 22, 1923, Mrs. Williams was the daughter of Orville and Mary Agnes Simons Haase. She married Carl L. Williams Nov. 7, 1953, at First Christian Church of Columbus. He preceded her in death Sept. 16, 2010.
Survivors include a son, Stephen A. (Jamie) McClain of Bedford; daughters, Kimberly Jo Natalie and Pamela A. (Dallas) Wetzel, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Nichole Natalie of Bloomington, Dr. Nathan (Brittany) McClain of Bedford, Brian S. Wetzel of Hong Kong and Christine (Stacy) Wetzel-Baker of Columbus; and great-grandchildren, Jessica, Miranda and Ethan Yeley and Zach Baker, all of Columbus, and Maximus A. McClain of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Maxine Abbott.
