Wayne Moore, 82, of Edinburgh, died at 10:56 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Homeview Center of Franklin.
He was born in Edmonton, Ky., January 15, 1930, the son of the late Lawrence and Terry (Hayes) Moore. He married Jean Bryant on September 20, 1954, and she survives.
He was of the Baptist faith, and had retired from Kelly Leasing in Columbus, as a diesel mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, fishing, and NASCAR.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Deborah (Larry) Oliver of Mt. Auburn, and Donna Yates of Columbus; grandchildren, Joshua (Jodi) Oliver, Travis (Marianne) Oliver, and Shane (Becky) Yates; great-grandchildren, James Oliver, Joseph Oliver, Piper Oliver and Gage Oliver; and brothers, Bobby (Jerri) Moore of Columbus, and Danny (Phyllis) Moore of Campbellsville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Moore; and sisters, Elsie England and Doris Gathof.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Edinburgh American Legion Post #233.
Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
