Gwen Baute, 56, of Westport, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012, at 9:40 p.m. at her daughter's residence in Hope.
She was born on April 9, 1956, in Columbus, the daughter of John M. and Phyllis L. (Laswell) Dunkelbarger.
She had been a lifelong resident of Decatur County and had graduated from South Decatur High School in 1974. For several years, Gwen had coached volleyball at South Decatur High School. She was a member of Westport Christian Church.
She enjoyed her kids, grandchildren and motorcycles. She married Bill Baute at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Waymansville, on August 31, 1976.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Baute of Westport; her daughter, Lyndsey Anne (Scott) Templeton of Hope; her son, John Henry (Brianne) Baute of Anderson; her grandchildren, Mack & Knox Templeton of Hope and Darby Baute of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, William Jacob Baute; and her sister, Cynthia Dunkelbarger.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery. A time of visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Hospice of South Central Indiana.
