Clifford “Bud” Little, 84, Westport, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon.
He was born on August 3, 1928 in Jennings County, the son of Clifford Ernest Little and Helen (Yeager) Little Reed. He was born and raised in Jennings County and has been a Westport resident since 1964.
He had worked for the Decatur County Parks and Recreation Department for 14 years and the Decatur County Highway for three years. He had served with the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Korea.
He married Betty Jo Eggenspiller in Vernon, on March 5, 1954 and she preceded him in death on December 20, 1998.
Survivors include his sisters, Bonnie Phillips of Seymour and Sharan (Virgil) Woodson of North Vernon; his stepsister, Gloria Smith of Seymour; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jo Little; his sister, Thelma Maxine Marcum; his brother, John Henry Little; his stepfather, Leslie C. Reed; his stepsisters, Fern Cole, Raymona Todd and Illena Anderson; his stepbrothers, Lionel “Bud” Reed and Richmond Reed.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery with Military Graveside Services.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Westport Volunteer Fire Department.
