Rosemary “Nan” Leonard Hendricks, 86 years of age, of Columbus, formerly of Paoli, IN, passed away at 8:47 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
She was born March 29, 1926, in Orleans, IN, to Huber and Stella Reed Cornwell. She married Robert G. Leonard March 29, 1946, and he preceded her in death. She later married James Hendricks and he also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hendricks was a former member of Paoli United Methodist Church. She loved her flowers and decorating her home and it was said it was simply amazing what she could do with some imagination and a can of spray paint. Most of all, she loved and devoted herself to her daughters and granddaughter.
Rosemary, with her husband Bob, formerly owned and operated Green Acres Golf Course and Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and two brothers, Melvin and Reed Cornwell.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay Leonard of Seymour, IN, and Shawn Michener and husband Warner of Hope, IN; a sister, Katherine Johnson of Bedford, formerly of Paoli, IN; and a granddaughter, Nicole Ault and husband Clayton of Spencer, IN.
Cremation is planned. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Stampers Creek Cemetery in Paoli, IN, with Pastor James Walters officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Rosemary’s name to the American Heart Association
