Laura Jane Rodarte, 67, of Countryside Lane, died at 9:50 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
Jane was born January 12, 1945, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Binford and Dosha Campbell Trotter. She was a graduate of Cumberland College and earned her Master's Degree from Indiana University. She married Pete Rodarte September 23, 1995, in Columbus.
Jane was an active member of First Christian Church and in the church's children's department. She was a teacher at Central Middle School and a bookkeeper for Columbus Dairy, and enjoyed running, cooking and spending time with family and friends, especially her granddaughter, Alicia Frazer.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Justin White officiating. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, First Christian Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Jane is survived by her husband, Pete Rodarte; children, Peter Rodarte of Columbus and Lori (Keith) Hawk of Columbus; grandchildren, Jimmy Rodarte, Joshua, Curtis, Christopher and Adam Kamman, Alicia Frazer, Isabella, Pete, Myla and Conner Rodarte; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Ari Kamman; a brother, Floyd D. (Pat) Trotter of Russellville, TN; sisters, Mary E. (Melvin) Allen of Scottsburg, Terri Trotter of Alabama and Judith A. (Ralph) Cox of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
