Martha Jones, 79, of Columbus, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care Center of Columbus.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and worked cleaning homes in Columbus. She enjoyed doing ceramics.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation is planned and there will be no services or calling. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Garland Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Salvation Army or the donor’s choice of charities.
Arrangements were made by Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street.

Born in Columbus June 8, 1933, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of Winfield and Nettie Johnson Baker. She married Carl E. Jones Feb. 15, 1966, in Taylorsville.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Terry Jones of Columbus, IN; and stepdaughters, Debbie Jones of Pompano, FL, and Nancy (Michael) Green of Boone, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Bickley.
