Victor H. Carr, 88, of Shelbyville, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Waldron Health Care Center in Waldron.
Mr. Carr was a furnace engineer for General Electric in Shelbyville for several years. During World War II, he served in the South Pacific with the 10th U.S. Army Division.
He was a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church and in his earlier years enjoyed caring for his horses.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with the Rev. Les Fix officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial with military graveside rites will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Flat Rock United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
Born in Hartsville on August 7, 1924, Mr. Carr was the son of Byron and Leta Huber Carr. He married Joan Bernhardt on June 23, 1950, and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Michael Carr of Indianapolis, and several cousins.
